Murrieta's Well Malbec
If you want to explore another part of California’s rich winemaking heritage, travel off the beaten path to Murrieta’s Well Estate Vineyard in Livermore Valley east of San Francisco.
The original winery dates back to the 1800s when vineyards were planted with rootstock directly from France. It has been part of Wente Vineyards since 1933, and Murrieta’s Well still makes small lot wines specializing in terroir-driving limited production wine blends that showcase the best grapes of the estate.
Murrieta’s Well Malbec is dominated by rich red fruit with baked vanilla and cinnamon aromas with a long balanced finish. It’s made with 95% Malbec and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
