Remembering Al
Albert W. Vontz Jr., Heidelberg owner and patriarch who passed away in 2002, was a cheerleader for many non-profit organizations that help make our cities alive and well. The Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati honored Mr. Vontz on May 16 as one of its most influential leaders during the Center's 70-year history. Hats off to the wonderful example of giving back to our communities, Mr. Vontz!
Congratulations to retailer Jungle Jim's International Market, named one of the top 25 independent retailers in America by author George Whalin. Jungle Jim's has been a tourist destination in Fairfield, Ohio just north of Cincinnati since 1971 when Jim Bonamino began selling produce there. Today it is called "A food lover's paradise" - and we have to say a "wine and beer lover's paradise" as well. The book is called "Retail Superstars: Inside the 25 Best Independent Stores in America."
